Watching You

I set out to create a piece inspired by my favourite writer, George Orwell, the one I return to without needing to display my admiration.

This ring is not a tribute in the usual sense. It is a recognition that his worlds in 1984 and Animal Farm were never distant fictions. They are reflections. Surveillance is no longer a fear but a habit, quietly absorbed. Power no longer announces itself; it reshapes perception until it feels natural.

The pig and the watching eye exist together because they always have. Authority and obedience, control and acceptance, they evolve in form but not in nature. Faces change. Systems adapt. The instinct remains.

This piece exists as a reminder that what Orwell observed was not a moment in time, but a pattern that endures.
